Symptoms
A Bad Image error occurs as follows when launching Medit software.
- An error message related to DLL files is displayed
- A message prompting program reinstallation is displayed
- Error code: 0xc0e90002
Troubleshooting
1. Disable Smart App Control
1) Run Windows Security
2) Click on App & browser control and enter Smart App Control
3) Set Smart App Control to Off
2. Add Exclusion Folder in Windows Security
1) Run Windows Security
2) Virus & threat protection → Virus & threat protection settings → Manage settings
3) Scroll down to Exclusions → Add or remove exclusions
4) Click Add an exclusion and add the following folders
- C:\Program Files\Medit
- C:\ProgramData\Medit
- C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Medit
3. Windows System File Repair (SFC / DISM)
1) Run Command Prompt as administrator
2) If the UAC (User Account Control) window appears, click Yes
3) Enter the following command
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
4) After completion, enter the following command
SFC /scannow
5) Restart the PC after scanning and repair
4. Reinstall Medit Link
1) Control Panel → Programs and Features → Uninstall Medit Link and the affected program
2) Delete remaining files in the path below (delete only Medit Link and affected program folders)
C:\Program Files\Medit
3) Download and install the latest version from the Medit Link website
