Failed to initialize the graphics card for hardware acceleration

Symptoms

Medit Link is not starting with an error message stating "Failed to initialize the graphics card for hardware acceleration."

Solution

Use Windows Device Manager to manually upgrade graphics drivers.

1. In the search box on the taskbar, enter "device manager", then select Device Manager.

2. Find the Display Adapters category, then right-click the one you’d like to update.

3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

4. Select Update Driver.

5. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions. Although the companies that manufacture the graphics hardware usually release updates every month, with bug fixes and optimizations, it could take a while for these changes to be included in the Windows update package.
