If there is no icon or the icon has worn off, check the device’s technical specifications.
1.1 Wi-Fi Connection
Router Requirements
You can check your router information by referring to the label on the router, checking the Wi-Fi connection properties on your PC or Mac, or searching for the router model on the manufacturer’s website.
| How to Check the Wi-Fi Connection Properties | |
|
[Window PC] Go to Settings → Network & internet → Wi-Fi → Select the connected network name, and check the information under Protocol. Example: 802.11ac = Wi-Fi 5, 802.11ax = Wi-Fi 6 |
[Mac] While holding down the Option (⌥) key, click the Wi-Fi icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, and check the information displayed under Security. |
The following two router specifications are particularly important to check.
(1) Wi-Fi Standard: Wi-Fi 6E Recommended
If the router does not meet the recommended standard, check whether it supports the following frequency bands and channel widths:
- 6 GHz (160 MHz)
- 5 GHz (80 MHz)
(2) Security Protocol: Only Personal Wi-Fi Networks Are Supported
Only personal Wi-Fi networks are supported. The use of enterprise Wi-Fi networks that require an additional authentication page may be restricted.
