Question
My PC's local storage is full. How do I fix it?
Answer
You must have enough local storage space available for ensuring to operate the scan program comfortably. If you’re running out of local or cloud storage space, there are the following things you can do to quickly free up some space.
❏ Clear out data that you don't need.
To free up the local disk by cleaning up the data, follow these steps:
1. Open the Medit Link application.
2. Go to Settings> Storage Management.
Storage Management - Overview & Cleanup
3. Please select a period and delete files from either local or cloud storage.
In general, if the purpose is data retention, saving only the “Result Files & Attachments” is usually sufficient. Therefore, we recommend deleting the raw data, which takes up a large amount of storage space.
ℹ️ Note
With raw data, users can easily continue scanning on another PC with the same account, and data analysis is possible in case of any issues during scanning.
Even without the raw data, adding additional scans is still possible.
4. Click "Delete."
ℹ️ Note
If the Free up space option does not appear in Storage Management, please check whether your account is Admin.
Member accounts do not have permission to delete data.
❏ Upload your data to the Medit Link cloud storage using "Case Synchronization Manager."
1. Start the Medit Link application.
2. Click the Case Synchronization Manager icon (that looks like a cloud) in the Menu.
3. Upload the selected cases.
❏ Move your files to an external storage device using the "Case Converting Tool".
1. Start the Medit Link application.
2. Click Settings > "Case Converting Tool".
3. On the "Export Cases" tab, select the cases you wish to export.
4. Click the "Export Cases" button, and select a folder to save the exported file to.
❏ Upgrade to the 10 TB Membership plan.
10 TB Membership plan is a paid plan ($9.99 per month) that 10TB of cloud storage — excluding raw data from the use of the cloud storage — is provided. This plan is efficient for users handling many cases and enormous data.
1. Go to the Medit Link web application (www.meditlink.com) and log in to your account.
2. Navigate to Membership > Medit Cloud Storage Plan.
3. Change your subscription to the 10 TB Membership plan.
Question
“Insufficient Hard Disk Storage” Message Appears During Scanning (Settings > Storage Management Shows Available Storage)
Answer
Even if the configured storage path (local storage) has enough free space, this message may appear when the drive where the operating system is installed (typically the C drive) does not have sufficient free space.
In this situation, the software may also become unstable.
❏ Check the OS-installed drive
The operating system is usually installed on the C drive, which can be identified by its system icon().
❏ Clean up the operating system drive
After securing at least 20 GB of free space on the drive where the operating system is installed, restart Medit Link.
Even if the user has changed the Medit Link data storage path from the default (C:\ProgramData\Medit\Medit Link\Data) to another disk, previous scan data may still remain in the default path on the C drive. In this case, the remaining scan data can be moved to another disk to free up space on the C drive.
