Tissue management to scan anterior teeth

The goal of retraction is to create a space in which to properly acquire scan data.

1. Recline the patient chair's backrest to get your patient close enough to scan the anterior teeth.

2. Form a "V" with your index and middle fingers and gently pull the patient's upper lip back to reveal the anterior teeth.

3. Scan the anterior teeth while maintaining the "V" sign.
