The goal of retraction is to create a space to acquire scan data properly.
1. Recline the backrest of the patient chair to get your patient close enough to scan posterior teeth.
2. Make the shape of a hook with your index finger and pull the patient's cheek tissue outward tightly.
3. While maintaining the cheek tissue away from the scan area, start scan from the last molar to the anterior teeth. Ensure to move your finger along the scanner tip to secure the space for scan.
4. When scanning the buccal and lingual side, keep unnecessary tissues away from the scan area.
