How am I supposed to scan a sectional model that also includes non-sectioned prepped teeth such as a model with dies for both crowns and laminates(veneers)?

Answer

Utilizing additional scans is an easy and efficient method. Unlike the Medit Scan for Clinics app — the scan program for intraoral scanning — the Medit Scan for Labs app does not filter out the scan data of adjacent teeth acquired from the previous scan before the additional scan.

1. Select "Solid" for the Scan Strategy configuration.

2. Scan the whole dental model fitted with all sectioned teeth and then remove single dies from the model base.

3. Perform an additional scan for interproximal surfaces of adjacent teeth.
