For partial denture framework in exocad, you can launch colLab Scan to scan the case.
- colLab Scan arranges the interproximal scan option, which is used to scan interproximal areas of an orthodontic model, in order to scan undercuts of interproximal areas which a partial denture holds onto.
- The texture option is enabled by default to acquire pencil markings.
1. Create a Partial denture framework project in exocad DentalDB and launch the colLab Scan program.
2. Complete the scan strategy setting, and click Confirm.
- Scan model type > Model
- Maxilla > Interproximal Area Scan(2 steps) > On
- Texture (pencil marking) > On
3. Insert the model, the lingual side of which is tilted up at 45 degrees on the flexible multi-die, to the scanner. Adjust the scan depth, and start scan.
4. The first scan stage is complete.
- Check whether all scan images are acquired for necessary areas. If not, perform additional scan.
5. Next, Insert the model, the buccal side of which is placed vertically on the flexible multi-die, to the scanner. Adjust the scan depth, and start scan.
6. The second scan stage is complete.
- Check whether all scan images are acquired for necessary areas. If not, perform additional scan.
7. Align the lingual data and the buccal data by manual.
- 1 point or 3 points can be used for alignment.
- Mark alignment points onto both data respectively.
8. The alignment has been completed.
9. Remove unnecessary scan data by using editing tools, and then click Next to start the merging process.
10. Check the merged scan data, and click Exit to save and complete the case.
